Beginning With Him – June, 2002

June, 2002 Edition

It has been a tradition of E-Mail Ministry that the first message of the
month is my chance to talk to all of you about E-Mail Ministry and other
related items. However, the last “Beginning With Him” message was in
February of this year. My professional and personal life have been so
busy lately that I have not been able to write these messages. It has
been all I could do to keep the E-Mail Ministry messages coming three
times a week.

At times, this ministry becomes difficult. Dealing with all the e-mails
I receive, the special requests, etc. Lately the biggest hassle has
been the e-mail & internet viruses. If you don’t already, it is highly
recommended to install and maintain anti-virus software on your

Another difficulty has been the mysterious “bouncing” of subscribers.
“Bouncing” occurs when, for example, if your in-box is full or your
Internet Service Provider (ISP) is returning messages addressed to you.
If you stop receiving E-Mail Ministry messages and you have not
unsubscribed, it is a good chance your status is bouncing. To
re-activate your subscription you will need to resubscribe (see info at
the end of this message). At the end of each month I notify all the
e-mail addresses on the “bouncing” status report so they have the
opportunity to re-subscribe if they wish.

What sustains me during the difficult times of this ministry are the
nice notes I receive from many of you. It is always good to hear how
God is using this ministry to touch your lives and the lives of the
people you forward the messages onto.

E-Mail Ministry is now 3 1/2 years old with nearly 23,000 subscribers in
81 countries. The substantial growth is due to God’s grace and your
willingness to share His grace with your friends, family and work
associates. I encourage you to continue to share these messages as a
means to introduce people to God’s love and encourage them in their
walk. One way to easily do this is to use the “Tell a friend” feature

I have been informed by some as to how these messages are used. Some
use them in their Bible lessons, pastors have used them in their
sermons/messages, Sunday school teachers use them in their classrooms,
several have written they use them in their prison ministry. My
favorite is when I hear that parents are using them to teach their
children about God and Jesus. In my opinion, there is no more important
evangelism then what parents do with their children. Want to change the
world? Start with your children. For they are the future of the world.

A Bible search engine from BibleGateway has been added. You can search
by passage or key words in nine different translations of the Bible. You
can access this at:

I have initiated an “Auto Reply” to e-mails that I receive. It contains
answers to most of the common questions. I try to respond to as many
e-mails as possible but time does not allow answers to all of them;
however, I do read them all.

New links to other Christian sites are added weekly. There are now over
a 100 links listed. To make it
easier to find one of interest, you can search by key word or by
category. If you would like to add a link to a favorite site of yours,
go to:

Please keep in mind that you can always read previous messages in the
Archives: There is also a link
that allows you to forward the messages to others (or send it to
yourself for your own purposes).

If you have ideas as to how to improve E-Mail Ministry, please let me
know by sending an e-mail to me at:
Please keep in mind that I am a one-person operation with a very limited
time and budget. But I will prayerfully consider all ideas.

I want to thank all of you who responded to the “Stop Internet
Pornography” petition. E-Mail Ministry has provided more internet
signatures than any other source! To read the message go to:

If you have not already signed the partition, click on this link to sign this
petition to protect your families and your children.

As you may have noticed, a vast majority of the messages sent out are
“Author Unknown”. If you know the author of a message, please let me
know at:
I will update message archives
with the author’s name.

As I mentioned before, E-Mail Ministry is a one person ministry which
works on a very limited budget. Over the past few months, donations
have dwindled to almost nothing and no donations have been received for
the past 6 weeks.

E-Mail Ministry is free to all who request it due exclusively to your
generous donations. I do not accept any compensation for my efforts.
100% of your donations go to the expenses of the ministry.

If you would like to make a donation you can send a check to:

Well, that pretty much wraps it up for this month. I pray this message
finds you growing in the understanding of how much God loves you.
