Come Clean

COME CLEAN

The only way we can understand anything about God is if He shows us, so start with a prayer.

Psalm 32:3-5 (New Living Translation)
When I refused to confess my sin, I was weak and miserable, and I groaned all day long. Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.

Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide them. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

ASK YOURSELF….
1) Is there a sin that you have tried to hide? Have you too kept silent about it? Is it tormenting you? Read verse one again, can you identify with that kind of wrenching?
2) Do you want the guilt of your sin to be forgiven? Acknowledge your sin to God.
3) Are you honest in your relationship with God? Do you allow him to search your heart? Do you tell him the truth about your attitude towards him? Really?

Tell God whatever is in your heart at this moment. Although he already knows, put where you stand with God out in the open. Pray for his leading, and if there is anything you need to take care of, do so now in this very moment. If you are ready, give your whole, entire heart and life to his able hands. Remember today’s date as a marker for being completely honest with God.

Ask a friend to check up on you every once in a while to keep you accountable for always telling God the way you feel. As simple and elementary as it may sound, it is crucial to our friendship with God: Be honest, be honest, be honest with Him.

Read Psalm 139:23-24 and Psalm 51.
